Journal of Innovation in Computing – Author’s Guideline

We differentiate between the requirements for new and revised submissions. You can submit your manuscript as a single PDF file to be used in the refereeing process. Only when your paper is at the revision stage, will you be requested to put your paper in to a ‘correct format’ for acceptance and provide the items required for the publication of your article.
To find out more, please visit the Preparation section below.

Original submissions on all computer science and information technology topics are welcomed, especially those of practical benefit to the computing practitioners.

Journal of Innovation in Computing invites original, previously unpublished, research papers, review, survey and tutorial papers, application papers, plus case studies, short research notes and letters, on both applied and theoretical aspects.

Your paper should not have been previously published or be currently under consideration for publication any place else. You can visit JIC submission page, and submit your paper through the online submission page. All papers are subject to peer review by JIC Review Process. After your paper has been accepted, you must sign a Copyright Transfer Agreement with JIC. Papers accepted for publication will be publicly available online.

(a) Submission implies that the manuscript has not been published previously, and is not currently submitted for publication, elsewhere. Submission also implies that the corresponding author has consent of all authors.

(b) If the authors provide a previously published conference submission, editors will check the submission to determine whether there has been sufficient new material added to warrant publication in the Journal. The IRASEAT Publiser guidelines are that the submission should contain a significant amount of new material, that is, material that has not been published, elsewhere. New results are not required; however, the submission should contain expansions of key ideas, examples, elaborations, and so on, of the conference submission. The paper submitting to the journal should differ from the previously published material by at least 50 percent.

(c) Upon acceptance for publication transfer of copyright will be made to IRASEAT Publisher, authors will be requested to pay the publication charge.

(d) Manuscripts should be written in English. Paper submissions are accepted in PDF (for review purpose), and MS Word (the Camera Ready), other formats will not be accepted. Authors are requested to follow IRASEAT guidelines for preparing their manuscripts (MS Word), papers should be formatted into A4-size (21.0 x 29.7 cm) pages.

(e) Whenever applicable, submissions must include the following elements: title, authors, affiliations, contacts, abstract, index terms, introduction, main text, conclusions, appendixes, acknowledgement, references, and biographies.

(f) Authors may suggest 2-4 reviewers when submitting their works, by providing us with the reviewers’ title, full name and contact information. This will speed up the review process, but the editor will decide whether the recommendations will be used or not.

(g) Please read our Publication Ethics and Publication Malpractice Statement and Plagiarism Detection before submitting your paper.

Review Policy and Publication Process

The journal follows double blind peer review policy. The paper is sent to at least two reviewers (the experts in respective field) to review the paper in the light of journal’s guidelines and features of a quality research paper. For papers which require changes, the same reviewers will be used to ensure that the quality of the revised paper is acceptable.

The journal follows a systematic review and publication policy.

Step – 1: The submitted manuscript is acknowledged within 24 hours upon receipt.

Step – 2: Within one week, the manuscript/paper is sent to two reviewers (paper without the name and affiliations of the author(s). The review process takes maximum two weeks.

Step – 3: The review reports are collected from the reviewers and the editor will send the review reports to the authors including all terms and conditions of the publication.

Step – 4: If the paper is accepted, the executive editor will ask the author/corresponding author to pay the publication fee of the journal within the specified time. If the paper is accepted subject to modification, the editor will send the review reports to the author/corresponding author including a formal request to modify the paper by seven days as per the suggestions of the reviewers. The editor will send the modified paper to the same reviewers of the said paper to justify the modifications. If the paper is again returned by the reviewers, the paper is said to be finally rejected. The journal will not proceed with the said paper. However, in case of very minor changes, the editorial board may consider the paper for further modifications.

Step – 5: The accepted paper is processed for publication (soft copy) upon the successful completion of the journal’s terms and conditions (It takes maximum 1 week after receiving the publication fee). The author may ask for acceptance letter after making the payment of publication fee. The acceptance letter is issued within 1 week of publication fee receipt.

Step – 6: Proof Reading. The editor will send the processed paper for publication (MS Word) to the author/corresponding author for proof reading.

Step – 7: The paper is published online first. The editor will notify the author/corresponding author about online publication with necessary download link. The author/corresponding author may request for any correction in published paper (in case of extremely important changes) within three days of online publication.

Step – 8: The journal is published in print within one week of online publication.

Copyright

Copyrights for articles published in the journal are retained by the authors, with first publication rights granted to the journal. The journal/publisher is not responsible for subsequent uses of the work. It is the author’s responsibility to bring an infringement action if so desired by the author.

Plagiarism Policy

The editorial board is very strict regarding plagiarism. The journal believes that taking the ideas and work of others without giving them credit is unfair and dishonest. Copying even one sentence from someone else’s manuscript, or even one of your own that has previously been published, without proper citation is considered plagiarism. The editorial board retains the absolute authority to reject the review process of a submitted manuscript if it subject to minor or major plagiarism and even may cancel the publication upon the complaint of victim(s) of plagiarism.
