Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Nurhizam Safie is the Deputy Dean (Industry & Community Engagement and Income Generation) of Faculty of Information Science & Technology, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Prior to this position, he attached to the United Nations University – International Institute for Global Health (UNU-IIGH), a United Nations academic arm as a Research Fellow focusing on Health Information Systems. His research and industrial consultancy are focused on the following domain:- Public Sector Enterprise Architecture, Cloud based e-learning and Project Management. He served on the national and international advisory panel, expert working group and technical committee at the global level namely, the World Health Organisation (WHO), SESRIC, a training arm of OIC in Ankara, Turkey as well as with some of the Malaysian ministries and agencies. In his 23 odd years of experience, he has worked in various technical and management positions such as IT service delivery manager, senior project manager and enterprise architect for few public and private IT systems projects. Dr. Nurhizam Safie received his Ph.D. in Management Information Systems (MIS) from the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM) in 2010, Master of Information Technology from UKM in 1999 and Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the Anglia Ruskin University, United Kingdom in 2019. Currently, he is preparing himself for the CIMA Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) Master Gateway Route examination.
Title: Materialising Quadruple Helix Model in the context of Industrial Revolution Era
Synopsis:
In the era of Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR4.0), the creation of new knowledge and diffusion of innovative technologies consists the most critical dimensions of Quadruple Helix Model, a significant conceptual model which consists of the interconnection of academia, business, user/people and government. The aim of this keynote paper is to share the quadruple helix model implementation between the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Smart Selangor, a state government agency. Within the present era of the initial fourth industrial revolution in Malaysia, the quadruple institutions of an inclusive and sustainable eco-systems are following complex and co-evolving development trajectories in materialising the disruptive technologies of IR4.0.
